CMA Silver award Best use of Print
Currently on its 6th issue, the internal magazine for lotus, US LOT began in 2019, designed to unite a fast expanding global business. Going through many evolutions as the brand design changes, we have worked on a variety of themes from important business statements to the launch of new cars.
The team set out to create a magazine template that was vibrant, appealing and easy to read while challenging outdated preconceptions about Lotus. Using this I have worked on the majority of issues with a variety of topics and themes, with issues having a unique feature colour scheme in relation to the topic in hand. Covers were concepted based on this and we collaborated with talented illustrators to give each issue a fresh look. The strong layout and grid system allows for this as the brand is kept the same throughout. Over the four years, the design has lightly evolved, allowing for new brand rules, however the original design template remains.
Along with 60 pages packed full of content, some issues also come with easter eggs such as posters, postcards stickers and golden tickets, all relating to the main feature, further engaging and rewarding staff.
Issue 5 was awarded silver in the Content Marketing Awards for the Best use of Print, something which the team and client were extremely proud of. With the continued use of Lotus yellow, the design of this issue also incorporates the blue launch colour of the new Lotus Emira. Printed on uncoated paper stock for a progressive feel, the magazine contains a 16-page central section which is printed on contrasting, gloss-coated stock, focusing purely on the Emira – maximising the impact of the studio photographs.
